  My 86 year old grandmother rang shop to ask what time shutting on Saturday. Owner said 11. Grandmother confirmed with owner that she would stay open till 11. Grandmother got a taxi from her retirement home to the shop and there by 11 and owner had shut the shop. Banged on door and shop owner eventually came out said she wouldn't be serving her. What an appalling way to treat an elderly lady.

  Bargain Box never fails to deliver when it comes to great ideas for children's crafts, funky buttons 'n bits as well as beautiful fabrics for my quilt making friends. Our son loves the construction themed colour-in-fabric and pen set! So does his Dad, for that matter...

  I've bought a few things here over the years. They've always had what i wanted; such a large range for a compact country town store. Don't understand some negative reviews here, I do wonder did those people go into the store with a poor or demanding attitude and expect smiles and grovelling back? You do know one of the staff members there is half-deaf rather than ignoring you? I'm sure they'd prefer they weren't. I bought a length of fabric here and they sewed it into a wider piece for me no charge, did a beautiful job.

  I was looking for Spotlight but the owner told me the population here isn't big enough to support them. Bargain box have a good range of dress and craft fabrics and supplies. Worth a look.

  Sam and Martyn at Bargain Box are fantastic store owners! Sam is an immeasurably talented maker and her creativity knows no limits. She always has the answer to my sewing questions. I head to Bargain Box for all my sewing needs.
